The dust has settled in Concepción, and what a rally it has been! From Friday’s heartbreaks to Sunday’s triumphs, Rally Chile Bio Bío delivered the full WRC package – drama, speed, and a champion’s touch.
This time, it was none other than the magician himself, Sébastien Ogier, who rose above the chaos to claim victory on his 200th WRC start. And what a way to mark the milestone – a win that not only cements his legendary status but also ignites the fight for a ninth world title.

A Rollercoaster Weekend
Friday: Hyundai looked strong with Adrien Fourmaux leading the charge, but reliability issues haunted the team. Ott Tänak, who was pushing hard, suffered a devastating engine failure, ending his rally hopes.
Saturday: Toyota struck back with a dominant 1-2, Ogier and Elfyn Evans setting up the stage for a thrilling finale.
Sunday: The French legend showed his class, not only winning the rally but also taking Super Sunday points to complete a perfect comeback.

Championship Battle Heats Up
Chile didn’t just give us a rally winner – it reshaped the entire championship picture.
Drivers’ Standings (Top 5):
- Sébastien Ogier – 224 pts
- Elfyn Evans – 222 pts
- Kalle Rovanperä – 203 pts
- Ott Tänak – 181 pts
- Thierry Neuville – 166 pts
It’s a Toyota 1-2-3 lockout at the top of the standings – proof of the Japanese team’s dominance this season. But the margin is razor-thin: Ogier leads Evans by just 2 points heading into Rally Central European Rally (CER).
Hyundai & Ford: Struggles Continue
Hyundai’s Ott Tänak faced heartbreak with another reliability issue, slipping further behind in the title fight.
Reigning champion Thierry Neuville is still searching for answers, his chances of defending the crown now looking slim.
Ford Puma’s weekend didn’t get any better, with Josh McErlean suffering a power loss that ended his rally prematurely.
Still, Adrien Fourmaux’s podium in Chile was a huge positive for Hyundai – showing he has the pace to challenge Toyota on his day.
💬 Ogier Speaks
“It’s been a more difficult weekend than in Paraguay – we had to fight a little bit more, but we can be happy with the way we ended up. I think these points are deserved after the ones we lost with the weather in Paraguay’s Power Stage. Now we are number one – a record for Toyota – it’s more than deserved.”
What’s Next?
The WRC caravan now moves to Rally Central European Rally (CER) on tarmac. With only a 2-point gap between Ogier and Evans, and Rovanperä lurking in P3, the championship is wide open.
