Friday Update – EKO Acropolis Rally Greece 2025

Drama in the Dust as Tänak Leads a Tight Trio

The sun scorched the rocky Greek terrain as Rally Greece 2025 delivered a thrilling Friday full of dust, determination, and drama. The Estonian duo of Ott Tänak and Martin Järveoja ended the day clinging to a slender 3.0-second lead over their Hyundai team-mates Adrien Fourmaux and Alexandre Coria. Just behind, Sébastien Ogier and Vincent Landais sit 13.9 seconds adrift in third — a stacked top three setting the stage for a classic showdown on Saturday.

Friday Standings (Overnight):

  1. 🥇 Ott Tänak – Hyundai
  2. 🥈 Adrien Fourmaux – Hyundai (+3.0s)
  3. 🥉 Sébastien Ogier – Toyota (+16.9s)

But it wasn’t smooth sailing for all contenders.

Thierry Neuville suffered a tire burst on SS4, destroying his early momentum and costing the Belgian around 40 seconds. His teammate, Kalle Rovanperä, was equally unlucky, forced to change a rear-left wheel 13.8km into SS6, costing him nearly two minutes and dropping him down the order.

Despite the chaos, Hyundai once again proved dominant on Friday — typically their strongest day in past events. With Tänak and Fourmaux locked in up front, the question now is: Can Hyundai hold off the charging Toyotas for the rest of the weekend? Or will the relentless pace of Ogier and Rovanperä dismantle the Korean outfit’s hopes?

Hot weather, tough terrain, and tighter margins — this is classic Acropolis Rally.

Stay tuned as Saturday promises even more twists in the mountains of Greece.
