The Safari Rally Kenya 2025 delivered yet another breathtaking chapter on Saturday, proving once again why it remains one of the most unpredictable and challenging races in the World Rally Championship (WRC) calendar.

As the day kicked off, Murphy’s Law seemed to take full control—anything that could go wrong, did. The Sleeping Warrior, Elementeita, and Soysambu stages were already set to be a challenge, but Mother Nature had other plans. Rain turned the already brutal terrain into a slippery nightmare, forcing drivers into a battle against thick mud, zero visibility, and endless punctures.
As the rain poured down, windscreens were covered in mud, making navigation nearly impossible. Thierry Neuville was one of the biggest casualties of the reduced visibility, losing valuable minutes. Kalle Rovanperä, Takamoto Katsuta, and Grégoire Munster all suffered punctures, turning their fight for positions into a desperate struggle to stay in the game.
Elfyn Evans: The Master of Survival
While many faltered, one driver rose above the rest. Amid the chaos, Elfyn Evans stood tall. The Toyota driver not only held onto his lead but did so despite a dramatic 360-degree spin in SS14. His calm composure and strategic driving kept him ahead, proving why experience is key in the Safari Rally.
At the end of the day, Evans remained in control, but he wasn’t celebrating just yet. “The rally is far from over,” he admitted, acknowledging that Sunday could still change everything. The unpredictability of the Safari Rally means nothing is guaranteed until the very last stage.

With just one day to go, the battle is far from settled. Sunday’s Wolf Power Stage offers crucial bonus points, and with Hell’s Gate, Serengeti, and the final Mzabibu stage, it’s still anyone’s game.
