Toyota’s Fortress or an Opening for Hyundai & Ford?
Two rallies into the 2025 WRC season, the battle for supremacy is intensifying. However, Toyota Gazoo Racing has made an early statement, dominating both the manufacturers’ and drivers’ standings. As we shift from icy Sweden to the unforgiving Kenyan savannah, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Current Standings: The Pressure is On
Manufacturers’ Championship:
1️⃣ Toyota Gazoo Racing Team – 120 points 🔥
2️⃣ Hyundai Shell Mobis Team – 72 points
3️⃣ M-Sport Ford Puma Team – 25 points
Toyota’s grip on the title is firm, while Hyundai and M-Sport Ford must step up if they want to challenge for the top spot.
Drivers’ Championship:
🥇 Elfyn Evans (Toyota) – 61 points
🥈 Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) – 33 points
🥉 Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota) – 31 points
Despite being the reigning WRC champion, Thierry Neuville is not in the top three, leaving his title defense in jeopardy. If Hyundai wants to keep the championship, Neuville and Tänak must deliver a strong performance in Kenya.
Safari Rally Kenya: The Ultimate Battleground
Dubbed the toughest rally in the WRC calendar, Safari Rally Kenya demands extreme endurance, top-tier strategy, and bulletproof car reliability. Unlike the fast-flowing snow rallies, this event is filled with:
✅ Deep fesh fesh dust 🌪️
✅ Rough rocky terrain 🪨
✅ Wild unpredictable weather 🌦️
Historically, Toyota has dominated Safari Rally, with Kalle Rovanperä and Sebastien Ogier securing victories in recent years. However, this year, Hyundai and M-Sport must break Toyota’s streak to stay in contention.
Will Hyundai Strike Back?
The Hankook tires have proven their durability so far, and tire strategy will be critical in Kenya. If Hyundai can optimize their setup and Thierry Neuville or Ott Tänak can push hard, there’s still hope to turn the season around.
The Safari Awaits – Who Will Conquer the Wild?
Kenya is set to shine on the world stage once again. The local fans are buzzing with excitement, hoping that Kenyan rally heroes can put up a strong fight.
From snow to dust, the WRC action is only getting hotter. Can Hyundai fight back? Will Ford Puma cause an upset? Or will Toyota extend its reign?
March 20th–23rd. The Safari is calling. Let’s rally!
